Agnieszka Piasecka of the Kiev office of the Open Dialogue Foundation was talking, in an interview for TVN24 Biznes i Świat, about the situation in Ukraine, including the corruption the country is struggling with:
“Regrettably, corruption is Ukraine’s main problem, next to the risk of betrayal. One is linked to the other because public servants are prone to accept bribes for practically anything. It is not that difficult to get access to state secrecy or confidential information. The end is usually unfortunate (…), because information leaks to so-called ‘separatists’. Clearly, there are many honest people in Ukraine but they are mostly cut off from exercising power, for now at least.”
