Interviewed by TVN24 Biznes i Świat, Open Dialogue Foundation’s observer, Agnieszka Piasecka, estimated the chances of de-escalation of the conflict in relation to the appeal from the Russian Federation’s President to postpone the referendum in the east of Ukraine, planned for 11th May.
“The very fact that he is withdrawing under pressure, negotiations or even specific threats, does not mean de-escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, because there are still local forces which have their own interests and are heavily armed. (…) They do not have to step back at all“.
