Yehor Sobolev, accompanied by representatives of the Open Dialogue Foundation – Lyudmyla Kozlovska, Anastasia Khorna and Anne Souléliac, met with French MPs, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ukrainian community in Paris, where he talked about lustration in Ukraine.
Sobolev, head of the Ukrainian Lustration Committee, presented a new draft of the law that will serve as the legal basis for the lustration process. Anastasia Khorna aired her views about the abductions of Maidan activists in Crimea, and the case of Oleg Sentsov, stressing the need for the international community to react to the terrorism charges that these people kidnapped by Russian authorities are facing. During the meeting another topic was raised, that of France selling Mistral assault ships to Russia.
The delegation also met with the chairman of the Ukraine-France group of the National Assembly, Rémi Pauvros; and Senator Jean-Yves Leconte, who both expressed their support for the lustration initiative in Ukraine. The situation in Ukraine was also discussed with the Ukrainian community living in Paris, representatives of Amnesty International and the media.
