Coordinator of the Open Dialogue Foundation, Anne Souleliac, was interviewed by the public radio station “France Inter” to whom she talked, amongst other things, about the observance of human rights in Kazakhstan.
In her interview with Caroline Fourest, Souleliac touched upon the tragic developments in Zhanaozen, cases of abuse by non-democratic states of Interpol mechanisms in order to persecute political opponents, and attempts to extradite the Kazakh dissident Mukhtar Ablyazov and the head of his security, Aleksandr Pavlov. As Souleliac noted, non-democratic regimes are often supported by well-known European politicians – for instance Tony Blair, the former UK Prime Minister, is lobbying for Kazakhstan.
