The Internet portal polskieradio.pl published an article on bulletproof vests and helmets sent to Ukraine in the context of Polish customs blocking the export of such life-saving equipment.
As polskieradio.pl informs – “Tomaszów Lubelski court is to hold its session on bulletproof vests that were to be shipped to the militants in Eastern Ukraine, seized at a border crossing. The equipment was confiscated the on request of the Zamość Customs Chamber and it is now lying in storage, instead of saving lives. The equipment in question was sent to Ukraine by the Open Dialogue Foundation. The helmets and bulletproof vests were manufactured in Poland and meet all the relevant NATO standards. Legislation regarding this kind of equipment is very complicated, and it is the interpretation of these regulations that poses the root cause of problems in the equipment’s further passage into Ukraine.”
