The Internet portal NGO.pl published information by the Open Dialogue Foundation on Alexandr Pavlov – an associate of the Kazakhstan opposition, imprisoned in Spain.
“In fear for his life after his possible expulsion to Kazakhstan, Pavlov filed a request for asylum in Spain. Last year, the governmental Bureau for Asylum and Refugees issued a negative decision. Back then, numerous irregularities and strange events were noted, which could indicate covert political pressure exerted. The Spanish CNI intelligence service presented the Bureau with a report, which stated that the allegations of Kazakhstan were not credible – but nevertheless concluded that Pavlov is to have his asylum application rejected. Soon afterwards, in spite of all the procedures, the representatives of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees were not allowed to prepare their own report”, the article reads.
