The Internet portal ngo.pl publishes a report on the event organised by the Open Dialogue Foundation on the occasion of 74th birthday of the Kazakhstan president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, who has been ruling the country with an iron fist for 20 years.
At Warsaw Wilanów Beach, a match was played against the dictatorship. The game featured the team of democracy versus the dictators, who included a symbolic Nursultan Nazarbayev from Kazakhstan as well as his European advisors, amongst them Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Romano Prodi and Silvio Berlusconi.
– We played for the democracy and human rights team, the ones violated in Kazakhstan for many years on end. – said Lyudmyla Kozlovska, President of the Board for Open Dialogue Foundation. – by giving the red card to the dictator, we wanted to show symbolically that we do not consent to the rules of play in Kazakhstan and appeal to the president for the release of political prisoners, such as Vladimir Kozlov, and the cessation of persecutions against civil activists, such as Zinaida Mukhortova.
