On the spirits in Donetsk and the tragic death toll of the recent days as told to the Internet portal Wirtualna Polska by the observer of the Open Dialogue Foundation, Katarzyna Kwiatkowska-Moskalewicz.
In her article, Kwiatkowska-Moskalewicz also draws attention to the dividing lines between Ukrainians of Donetsk. As the observer noted, apart from those who have sworn allegiance to either of the sides, the majority of the local populace have adopted a “waiting stance”. As she puts it, it’s the powerlessness of the Kyiv authorities that forces people back into passivity – Only the bravest ones go out into the streets. And the price they pay is dear – she adds.
