On 30th August, the Act of 26 June 2014 on Amending the Act on Granting Foreigners Protection on the Territory of the Republic of Poland and Certain Other Acts came into force.
The amendments include, amongst others, an extension of the catalogue of persons entitled to welfare assistance and healthcare services. People with refugee status, residing in Poland and meeting the income criterion, can use healthcare services. The Act does not provide for the requirement of holding Ukrainian citizenship any longer.
There are amendments concerning education too. After the amendment, confirmation of completion of higher education studies by foreigners who have refugee status can be obtained.
