The Chair of the Foundation’s Council, Bartosz Kramek, commented on Saturday’s visit by Angela Merkel to Kyiv. As he noted, the German policy is conciliatory towards Russia and, as a result, in Ukraine, the Chancellor is called “Frau Ribbentrop”.
Kramek also pointed to the expectations Ukraine has of the West – the Ukrainians insist on the European Union to demand Russia’s withdrawal from Ukraine as soon as possible (…) whilst the western world, Germany and France in particular, are saying that it is most important to stop the fighting and uphold the cease fire – the Council’s Chair commented.
