For over a month – from 21 May to 30 June, the exhibition ‘I’ll go back, my brothers are there’, dedicated to the wounded soldiers fighting in the east of Ukraine, will be open to visitors at ‘Ukrainian World’. The opening of the exhibition was held on 21 May 2015 at 6.00 PM.
As the authors emphasise, the exhibits depict ordinary men who abandoned their homes and left their jobs and their families in order to fight for Ukraine. The inspiration for the title of the exhibition was conversations held with wounded Ukrainian soldiers during their recovery. Most of them, in reply to the question about their plans after regaining health, stated: “I’ll go back, my brothers are there”, “My companions stayed there” and “They are counting on me”. A 19-year-old boy from Lviv and a 40-year-old man from Vinnitsa, in the absence of any sense of fear or doubt, wish to return to the hell of war.
Venue: ‘Ukrainian World’, 63 Nowy Swiat Street, Warsaw
