– “Human power has its source in the soul rather than in the flesh. Life is a difficult business, and therefore it is easier to go through it with a smile on your face”, – Ukrainians in Poland, quoted by foreign media, write in letters to wounded soldiers in Odessa. The creation of the Military Post Office at the ‘Ukrainian World’ centre was reported by Ukrainian news portals, such as mediafox.com.ua and socportal.info.
The letter-writing campaign, initiated by Alla Majewska, an ODF volunteer, attracted even the youngest, although they preferred to draw pictures for the soldiers. On the 1st floor of ‘Ukrainian World’ centre, a corner was created where everyone can put down on paper, words of encouragement and support for the wounded defenders of Ukraine. Letters, along with humanitarian aid, will be sent to the Military Clinical Centre in Odessa. – Writing letters is important for the authors themselves. These are people who come to us for help or to learn the Polish language. They feel the need for contact with their homeland and to repay those who defend it – a Foundation volunteer quoted by SocPortal.
