Meet Victoria, a resident of one of the Homes for Independent Mums from Ukraine. In Dnipro, where she comes from, she was working as the director of a real-estate agency.
After the outbreak of full-scale war, she and her daughter came to Poland. From the very beginning, she set herself the goal of achieving in our country the same standard and comfort of life that she had in Ukraine. She enrolled in a Polish language course and attended classes twice a day. She was afraid of giving up on her dreams and taking on a job that was below the level of qualifications she had built up over years of experience.
Fortunately, Viktoria’s ambition bore fruit. Today, she is involved in property sales and investment: she has stayed in the industry, just as planned.
Thanks to our Foundation, Victoria did not have to worry about housing during this time and was able to focus on what she cared about most. As she says, she is grateful to ODF for the help we offered her. It is evident, however, that she made the best of it.
Homes for Independent Mums is an initiative that ODF launched in March 2022. The project was initiated by our colleague Agata Dziopa. So far, we have already helped 85 people in this way, including 35 women and 50 children. We encourage you to support us:
