On the 30th of May 30, 2012, near the building of the European Parliament in Brussels, ‘European Football Tournament – 2012’, will be held. The event is the first of its kind in the history of the European Union. The purpose of the tournament is showing support for democratic values and the spirit of ‘fair play’ on the European continent, as well as promoting Poland and Ukraine as the hosts of the UEFA European Football Championship in 2012. The initiative of carrying out this kind of tournament was put forward by the members of the European People’s Party – Piotr Borys and Jacek Saryusz-Wolski. The Open Dialogue Foundation is one of the organisers of the event. The tournament will be attended by members of the European Parliament, their assistants, deputies of the national parliaments of EU member states and football stars. The opening of the tournament will be announced by the President of the European Parliament – Martin Schulz.
The tournament will be held on the 30th of May, 2012, near the building of the European Parliament in Brussels (Esplanade Solidarnosc, 80) from 10:00 to 18:00.
