The Warszawa-Śródmieście District Court has closed the criminal lawsuit that Law and Justice MP Joanna Lichocka filed against activists Marcin Mycielski and Bartosz Kramek in relation to billboards showing an extended middle finger.
Marcin Mycielski and Bartosz Kramek (Spontaniczny Sztab Obywatelski) prepared a poster reminding us that Joanna Lichocka showed the opposition MPs the middle finger at the beginning of 2020 during a vote session in which almost PLN 2 billion in compensation from the state budget for TVP and Polskie Radio was voted through. At the same time, the opposition’s proposal to designate the funds for children’s oncology was rejected. Thanks to the collection of more than PLN 600,000 on the Internet, a poster with Lichocka’s gesture was placed on more than 180 billboards throughout the country. Before the recent parliamentary elections, activists prepared another billboard with the MP’s middle finger, which was visible in several places in Sieradz, from where Lichocka ran for the Sejm.
In March 2021, Joanna Lihocka filed a lawsuit against Marcin Mycielski and Bartosz Kramek. She alleged that they had infringed her good name “for conduct that humiliated her in the public eye and put her at risk of losing the confidence needed to exercise her mandate”.
