The Open Dialogue Foundation and the “Themis” Association of Judges have published a report outlining how the Polish public prosecutor’s office operated under the rule of Zbigniew Ziobro. Entrepreneurs speak out about harassment by investigators.
- The report features a number of stories of people who experienced repression by the public prosecutor’s office in Poland under the Law and Justice government.
- One example is that of Piotr Osiecki, the founder of Altus TFI, who was still detained for a long time despite having paid record bail.
- A former head of Polish State Railways Jakub Karnowski, on the other hand, has been facing accusations of wrongdoing related to the purchase of Czech rail freight operator AWT for seven years, despite expert reports stating that the deal went through properly.
