The Warsaw National Philharmonic Hall hosted a gala concert to mark the 25th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The event was also an opportunity to award Polish and Ukrainian activists for their significant contribution to strengthening the international standing of Ukraine, promoting its historical heritage and contemporary achievements. Among the recipients of this medal bestowed by the President of Ukraine was Artur Deska, the Advisor to the Board of the Open Dialogue Foundation (ODF).
In accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 340/2016, Artur Deska, founder and director of the Caritas Volunteer Centre in Drohobych, was awarded with the jubilee medal “25 years of Ukraine’s independence”. Other Polish citizens also received this award, including historian Aleksander Kolańczuk and Programme Manager at the International Solidarity Foundation Izabella Chruślińska. The medals were conferred by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Andriy Deshchytsia, on behalf of the President of Ukraine.
