Nearly 100 Polish books have been donated to the Polish School in Lille in response to a request by the Dzień Dobry Lille Association. The donation, provided by the Znak publishing house and worth more than PLN 5,000, includes children’s literature, travel books, cookbooks, popular science books, and more.
Located in northern France, the Ignacy Jan Paderewski School in Lille is a public institution which, due to limited funding, faces challenges in providing students with access to Polish-language literature. In March 2025, the Dzień Dobry Lille Association launched an initiative to create a small library for the local Polish community and submitted a request for around 70 books for children aged 7 to 17. The aim was to enrich their knowledge, spark their imagination and support their continued education.
In April 2025, we responded to the request by donating nearly 100 books to the Polish School in Lille with support from the Znak publishing house. The selection featured fiction, handbooks, and guidebooks about Poland. We strongly believe that giving students access to quality Polish and Polish-language literature is not only an important educational tool, but also a vital way of preserving their national identity and ties with the homeland.
