On 24 February 2026, on the fourth anniversary of the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine, a rally and solidarity concert entitled “United We Will Win” took place at Castle Square in Warsaw. The event gathered numerous friends of Ukraine and served as an expression of enduring support for the Ukrainian nation. During the event, we also spoke about the humanitarian campaign “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv.”
The Open Dialogue Foundation was one of the organizers of the event, co-organizing it together with a broad coalition of civil society organizations and institutional partners, including the Stand with Ukraine Foundation, Euromaidan-Warszawa, the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, Akcja Demokracja, and the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland. The purpose of the gathering was both to commemorate the victims of the war and to emphasize the importance of international solidarity and continued support for Ukraine.
Among those who addressed the participants were the Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha, and the Mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko. In their speeches, they emphasized the importance of the support provided to Ukraine by Poland and the role of international cooperation in the face of Russia’s ongoing aggression. A special place in their remarks was devoted to the “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv” initiative, highlighted as an example of the effective mobilization of civil society and solidarity between nations.
Rafał Trzaskowski pointed to the involvement of the residents of Warsaw and all of Poland in supporting Ukraine, emphasizing that grassroots activities – such as fundraising campaigns and humanitarian aid – have a real impact on the situation of civilians. Andrii Sybiha expressed gratitude for Poland’s consistent support, noting that initiatives such as “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv” strengthen Ukraine’s resilience and constitute an important element of international solidarity. Vitali Klitschko, in turn, stressed the importance of the delivered energy equipment for the functioning of the city amid destroyed infrastructure, thanking Polish society for its concrete and effective support.
The “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv” initiative – co-created together with our friends Jerzy Wójcik and Joanna Mosiej-Sitek from Sestry.eu, Natalia Panchenko from the Stand With Ukraine Foundation, and Zbigniew Jankowski from The Diplomatic Platform – made it possible to raise 11 million PLN for the purchase of 744 power generators, 918 cookers, and 300 power stations for Ukraine. This equipment was delivered to regions particularly affected by the destruction of energy infrastructure, helping to ensure basic living conditions for civilians.
During the event, speakers emphasized the scale of civil society engagement and the importance of cooperation between NGOs, local governments, and private partners. The “Warmth from Poland for Kyiv” campaign was highlighted as one of the most tangible examples of solidarity translated into real assistance for Ukraine. Our friends Beata Drzazga and Rafał Sonik spoke about the role and engagement of entrepreneur-philanthropists.
After the official part, a concert featuring artists from Poland and Ukraine took place, including the bands Antytila and Poparzeni Kawą Trzy. The programme also included speeches by invited guests – soldiers, volunteers, public officials, and people directly involved in helping Ukraine.
The rally and concert also had a symbolic dimension – participants paid tribute to the victims of the war and expressed gratitude to all those involved in supporting Ukraine. The event demonstrated that despite four years having passed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, support for Ukraine remains strong and deeply rooted in society.
