Matt Carlsson

Matt is a mechanical engineer and building scientist whose professional work has focused on demand-side decarbonization strategies and technologies for heating systems, building performance analysis, data centre HVAC commissioning, and manufacturing process engineering. Matt now brings his engineering consulting experience to the bitcoin mining industry in assessing waste heat capture and reuse opportunities to support the decarbonization of various heating systems such as district energy, space and service water, and industrial applications with the goal of improving the business case in the movement to electrify heating, stabilizing miner revenues, promoting network decentralization and resilience, reducing political risk, and decreasing overall GHG emissions.
