Ava Ghods
Ava is a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Virginia pursuing a double major in Political & Social Thought and Music. She has experience in public service and legal environments, having interned in multiple congressional offices where she assisted with constituent services, legislative research, and policy-related work. She has also worked at an immigration law firm, gaining exposure to casework, client communication, and the legal processes surrounding immigration and asylum. These experiences have shaped her interest in law, governance, and the practical realities of how policy affects individuals and communities.
Ava was also recently accepted as an undergraduate research associate for the Democratic Futures Project, a collaboration between Harvard University and UVA led by the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation at Harvard University and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
