Natalia Melnychenko
Graduate of Ukrainian Studies, Ukrainian-Polish Philology, as well as Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn. Polish champion in Ukrainian orthography in 2011. In her professional career, she has taken the first steps as a journalist and teacher of the Ukrainian language.
Her cooperation with the Open Dialogue Foundation began with the Euromaidan in Kyiv, where she arrived as a correspondent for the Olsztyn newspaper, and soon became a volunteer for ODF. Today, she is dealing with websites and administrative work. Starting from February 24, 2022, following the massive Russian military attack on Ukraine, she has also been coordinating a public fundraiser to help refugees and volunteers fighting on the front lines. Furthermore, she co-organizes and participates in humanitarian convoys to the most volatile areas of the war.
She has been honored twice by the Verkhovna Rada (the Parliament) of Ukraine: with the “Honor et Gloria” White Cross for co-organizing the humanitarian mission “Opposition for Ukraine” to Bakhmut, and with the “Power of Mercy” Order for co-organizing and coordinating the mission to deliver advanced bionic prostheses to Ukrainian veterans.
In her personal life she is fond of travelling, cooking and Latin rhythms.
