Chernobyl VR Project, a joint project of the Polish company ‘The Farm 51’ and the ODF, is an informative and entertaining application, developed on the basis of the ‘Reality 51’ technology. This is the first ever virtual tour of Chernobyl and Pripyat, intended for virtual reality devices. This tour offers the opportunity to visit the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, without leaving home.
On 26 April, 2016, i.e. on the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster in Kyiv, the world premiere of the Chernobyl VR Project application entitled ‘The Ghost Town. The World Premiere of A Virtual Journey’ was held. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the mayor of Kyiv – Vitaliy Klitschko. Later, the premiere also took place in Warsaw and Brussels.
In May 2016, on the initiative of The Farm 51, a committee of experts was established. The committee has carried out several study visits to schools, located in the area, affected by the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in order to carry out a detailed analysis of their needs. It is because part of the revenues from the sale of Chernobyl VR Project application is transferred by The Farm 51 as financial assistance to victims of the Chernobyl disaster and their families.
