Between 14 and 16 February, 2017, a delegation of the Open Dialogue Foundation was present at a plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The aim of the visit was to discuss the current human rights, political and economic situation in Kazakhstan.

We call upon the Czech authorities to defend Tatiana Paraskevich who has been exposed to persecution as a part of politically motivated case and now faces new threats.

By persecuting political opponents, the Kazakh authorities openly flout public assurances, given to the international community. Kazakhstan declares that the right to a fair trial will be observed with respect to opposition politicians, journalists and activists.

On 7th September, Petro Ohotin of the Open Dialogue Foundation met, in Kiev, with Salil Shetty, Secretary General of Amnesty International.

In June the ODF Board gained a new member – Boguslaw Stanislawski, a long-time activist, engaged in defending human rights.

Frost and wind did not discourage Warsaw residents, as well as residents of other cities in Poland, from participating in a demonstration of support for the Ukrainians, who have been protesting on the EuroMaidan since November, 2013.
