Citing a press release from the Polish Press Agency, the Polish information portals informed of the investigation into the case against Oleg I. having been closed; the Ukrainian citizen attempted to ship over 500 helmets from Poland into Ukraine without the respective permit.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Zamość has discontinued the investigation involving the Ukrainian national Oleg I. against whom, on Monday only, allegations were made concerning his attempt to export 551 helmets.

On the Polish regulations for shipping bulletproof vests, as well as humanitarian aid for Ukraine – as told in the “Sygnały Dnia” program on Polish radio Channel One by Krzysztof Bukowski.

TOK FM, quoting an article published by Gazeta Wyborcza, describes the case of shipment of bulletproof vests and helmets from Poland to Ukraine.

We gathered in front of the district attorney’s office in Zamość to protest against the idea of charging people involved in the shipping of helmets to Ukraine.

The Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Zamość presented charges to a Ukrainian citizen who was carrying vests and helmets across the border in Zosin.

In the interview hosted by the journalist of Channel 24 Oltha Chytaylo, the President of the Open Dialogue Foundation L. Kozlovska spoke about the help of the Ukrainian army, problems with the release of prisoners of war and the need for further rehabilitation of those who regained their freedom.

Polsat News broadcasted a program on the assistance for Ukraine provided by the Open Dialogue Foundation.

On 23 July 2014, the President of the Open Dialogue Foundation, Lyudmyla Kozlovska, gave an interview for the television Hromadske. She spoke about the Foundation’s activities in helping Ukraine, and in particular, the volunteers fighting against Russian aggression in the east of the country.

The rp.pl website described the challenges faced by foundations and individuals who want to support those fighting in eastern Ukraine by sending them protective equipment such as bulletproof vests or helmets.

News portal Onet.pl reported a statement from the Ministry of Defence. Minister Siemoniak told TVN 24 that “there is no reason to stop bulletproof vests at the border.” The minister also admitted that these were non-lethal items, serving for protection and not for killing others.

On its Internet website, the Gazeta Wyborcza daily publishes an article on bulletproof vests and helmets being dispatched from Poland to Ukraine – amongst others, by the Open Dialogue Foundation – and the problems encountered by those shipping the equipment.
