Representatives of the Foundation follow and attend the most important sessions and meetings of the international organizations and institutions in Brussels, Strasbourg, Vienna and Geneva.

The ODF has prepared a report on the issue of prolonged pre-trial detention in Ukraine due to the violation of reasonable terms of criminal proceedings. The project was implemented with the funds from a grant bestowed by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research.

In the period between 4 July, 2016 and 8 July, 2016, the Open Dialogue Foundation and the ‘European Exchange’ organised the second phase of the study visit of Ukrainian students from Kharkov, Odessa and Dnieper to Brussels and Berlin.

On 1st May 2016, European Exchange and the Open Dialogue Foundation launched the project ‘Support for young people as a stimulus for the strengthening of democracy in Ukraine’.

On 4 August, 2016, the Kapshagai City Court of Almaty Province ordered the conditional release of opposition politician Vladimir Kozlov. The court decision will come into force in 15 days.

On 1st May Open Dialogue Foundation and European Exchange started the ProjectFostering civic society engagement and promoting democracy amongst Ukrainian youth. The project is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.

The United States are planning to introduce unclear amendments to the article 41, concerning the issue of hacking. Wednesday 29 June, the Summer University in Kőszeg (Hungary) “Europe at the Crossroads” -this year’s main topic, stood under the sign of Ukraine and an advanced approach to a new Central Europe.

Geneva 23 June 2016 – On 22 and 23 June 2016 the UNHRC – the body that monitors the implementation of the rights enshrined in the ICCPR – reviewed for the second time since Kazakhstan is a party to the ICCPR the status of civil and political rights in the country.

The Open Dialogue Foundation, an international NGO active in promotion, support and protection of human rights, democracy and the rule of law in the post-Soviet area supports a political asylum request filed to the Dutch authorities by a Turkmen citizen, Mr Uhmyt Hallyyev and his family.

At the end of the Free Russia Forum the participating representatives of the Russian opposition and civil society adopted a resolution supporting the call for the introduction of personal sanctions against individuals responsible for the persecution of the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko.
