We have a pleasure to present an overview of the panel discussion: “What reforms are needed in Ukraine to secure its aspirations toward EU Membership?”.

The Ukrainian authorities did not manage to take advantage of a window of opportunity which appeared after the overthrow of the Yanukovich regime. To date, no concerted efforts have been undertaken to implement deep systemic reforms by the President, the parliament and the government.

Decentralisation in Ukraine, instruments to support the process and development of local governments in the regions were the main themes of the conference on “Decentralisation: preliminary results of reforms.” held at the Ukrinform national press centre in Kiev on 3rd September.
