On 07.10.2016, Vladimir Putin’s 64th birthday, activists from Euromaidan Warsaw held a protest against the bloody policy of the President of Russia alongside activists from the ODF. Several dozen people brought along with them portraits of Ukrainian soldiers killed in the war in the Donbas.
In 2015, the Open Dialogue Foundation continued its humanitarian aid programme addressed to the ones in need in Ukraine. The categories of beneficiaries did not change and included: widely understood defence structures, medical services and citizens’ initiatives.
After over two years of activity, the ODF closed down the Warsaw-based “Ukrainian World” centre. It was the first and biggest centre offering support to large numbers of Ukrainians arriving to Poland. From the beginning of its activity, the “Ukrainian World” helped over 30 000 people.
The event, organised , among others, by the Euromaidan Warsaw and the Open Dialogue Foundation, was not only reported by the Polish and Ukrainian media; Ukrainian diaspora’s online portals around the world also became interested in it.
On 22 May, 2016, participants of the Vyshyvanka Parada, an event, held in the capital city for the fourth time, walked approximately 6 kilometers along the streets of Warsaw. It couldn’t have been missed by members of the Open Dialogue Foundation.
On 30 March, the Ukrainian World Centre held the official opening of the Academy of Legalisation of Residence and Employment Support Policy for Foreigners in Poland, founded by the Open Dialogue Foundation within the framework of the Open Europe Group.
A year after the outbreak of protests in Kiev, the Open Dialogue Foundation along with Euromaidan Warsaw summed up its aid activities, organised for Ukraine over the last year (November 2013 – November 2014).
“Putin terrorist”, “Peace for Ukraine”, more than 50 protesters demonstrating at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Warsaw were chanting. The Ukrainians living in Poland were joined also by Poles and even Russians.
The streets of Warsaw witnessed on Sunday demonstrations against the Russian aggression. In addition to Poland’s capital, Krakowalso protested against the occupation of part of Ukraine’s territory.
Very recently, we were all “Charlie” in solidarity with the victims of Paris. Now, residents of Warsaw have posted under the hashtag #JeSuisVolnovakha, in support of the families of civilians killed when separatists shot at a bus in Volnovakha.
On Sunday, a March of Solidarity with Ukraine passed through the streets of Warsaw. During the march, its participants paid tribute to the heroes of the Nebesna Sotnya.
The student television channel of the University of Warsaw, Uniwerek TV, has recorded a programme about Putin’s 62nd birthday in Warsaw. The event was organised by the Open Dialogue Foundation in cooperation with EuroMaidan Warsaw.
