On 2 August, Marcin Święcicki, MP of the Civic Platform, was a guest on “24 Pytania – Rozmowa Poranka” broadcast on Polskie Radio 24. The main topic discussed by Katarzyna Adamiak-Sroczyńska included the latest right-wing media reports on the Open Dialogue Foundation

Last week, Polish Television (TVP) broadcast a material in which it accused the Chair of the Open Dialogue Foundation Bartosz Kramek of “calling for an overthrow of the government and destabilisation of the state” and presented its theory on the aim behind the Foundation holding a concession.

“TVP Channel, in its quest for the sensational, has gone so far that it met with criticism coming from the least expected side. Wojciech Mucha in “Gazeta Polska” referred to the revelations concerning the Open Dialogue Foundation as “very serious fake news”

”Spontaneous protests are an organised attempt to overthrow the government, NGOs are agents of organised influences, and Western Europe is degenerated and culturally alien” – similar rhetoric, in the opinion of the author of the article which was published on 1 August 2017 in Krytyka Polityczna

„Never before, have ministers of the Polish government, under dictation from nationalist and anti-Ukrainian circles, considered our delegalization – this is how the Open Dialogue Foundation responded to the reports that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested its detailed fiscal inspection”

The Wirtualna Polska internet portal is another medium, next to, amongst others, Gazety.pl, TVN24 or Radio Zet, which has devoted its material to an attack by the government and pro-government media against the Open Dialogue Foundation

On 31st July, Bartosz Kramek, Head of the Foundation Board, taking part in Anna Dryjańska’s interview presented by “naTemat” and in social media, summarised the current situation in Poland and controversies around his letter titled: “Let the state stop: let us deactivate the government!”

According to naTemat, Professor Andrzej Zybertowicz, an advisor to President of Poland has proposed the claim that Google Inc. supports only those NGOs which oppose the Law and Justice: “He has accused this giant technological enterprise of supporting the Open Dialogue Foundation

In connection with the information about allegedly mysterious sources of funding of the Open Dialogue Foundation (the Foundation, ODF) currently publicised by pro-government and right-wing media, as well as pro-Russian portals

Mrs Balli Marzec recently addressed the ODF and MEPs with whom we met during the Strasbourg week in February, 2017, via an email with the subject “True opposition have nothing in common with Ablyazov”.

On 6 October, 2016, the Open Dialogue Foundation concluded an Amicable Settlement with the publisher, the then editor-in-chief and one of the authors of the article entitled ‘ entitled ‘Lobbyści Oligarchy’, published in the weekly ‘Wprost’ in February 2014.

According to the Open Dialogue Foundation, an internet campaign has been launched against Mukhtar Ablyazov, the Kazakh dissident who is the chief opponent of Kazakhstan’s President, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
