In Kiev, in the offices of Ukraine’s oldest news agency, Ukrinform, on Monday, June 2 a seminar organised by the Open Dialogue Foundation was held

Yuri Borodin was born on December 8, 1993 in Bakchysarai in Crimea. He is a trained technician-mechanic and driver. His passions include sea and mountain rescue. He, along with his mother and brother, moved to Kiev several months prior to the events of Maidan.

The Open Dialogue Foundation, in collaboration with Collegium Civitas, organised a meeting entitled ‘The EuroMaidan – leave your mark’.

The Ukrainian revolution that began as a peaceful rally in support of the country’s European integration (the EuroMaidan), and later transformed into massive anti-government protests, resulted in an armed clash between protesters and police officers.

18.02.2014 clashes between the protesters and the police started again. Dozens of people have been killed, more than a thousand wounded. Hospitals are overcrowded with injured people. The authorities took advantage of the ceasefire: they mobilised their resources to solve the conflict by force.

As during previous clashes on Independence Square, on 30 November, 2013, and on 1 December, 2013, near the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, numerous violations of rights of third parties and journalists, were recorded during the events on Hrushevskoho Street which began on 19 January, 2014.

The first batch of humanitarian aid was delivered on December 30th 2013 to the “Centre for civil freedoms” (Centr Grazhdanskih Svobod) community organisation with the aim of supporting the works of the “Ozon” public monitoring group and the “Evromaydan SOS” hotline.
