On Tuesday, 28th October 2014, the decision of the Municipal Court in Sofia to deny the extradition to Russia of the French democracy activist Nikolay Koblyakov became final.
To the surprise of most of the observers, Bulgarian justice made a U-Turn in favour of human rights and international justice and against pressure from Russia. Today court in Sofia dealt with Russian extradition request against the French/Russian activist Nikolay Koblyakov.
Nikolay Koblyakov, a Russian and French citizen is being detained in Bulgaria and faces extradition to Russia. We believe main reason for his persecution is his engagement in numerous activities supporting democratic developments in Russia.
