On October 26, 2011, Asan Amilov, a cameraman, and Orken Bisen, a journalist from the “Stan.kz” were subject to armed attack in Aktau, the Mangistau District. The bullet-wounded victims were admitted to hospital. A criminal investigation was initiated in connection with the incident.

Monitoring of mass-media during local self-government election in Ukraine, 2010
On October 31, 2010 new authorities were in fact taking an exam demonstrating if they are ready to follow democratic procedures and are able to fulfil election promises.

On 31 October 2010, a group of observers invited by the “Open Dialogue Foundation”, after having received accreditation from the Central Elections Commission of Ukraine, participated in a short-term observation of the voting process in the town of Drohobych, Lviv region.
