Within the framework of the OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Meeting 2018 in Warsaw, the Open Dialogue Foundation will hold a side event entitled “Defence for the Defenders: lawyers and attorneys under attack for participation in politically motivated cases in the post-Soviet area”.

On the occasion of the Annual Session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly held in Berlin between 7 and 11 July 2018, a delegation of human rights and civil activists led by ODF presented their reports and made their appeals to members of different national delegations.

On 13.09.2017, at the National Stadium in Warsaw, during the international conference 2017 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting which was an OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights event, we organised a discussion panel on the attack on the rule of law and civil society in Poland.

This film was prepared in cooperation with Destination Justice in order to attract attention to the problem of Interpol that is frequently misused by authoritarian regimes. It was screened at our Interpol side event during Human Dimension Implementation Meeting 2017 organised by OSCE ODIHR in Warsaw

Recent abuses of INTERPOL by non-democratic states, such as the Red Notice issued by Turkey to detain Mr Doğan Akhanlı in Spain and other relevant cases in Russia, Moldova, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, show why the reforms introduced by INTERPOL should be implemented decisively and without delay

On 16 March, 2017, the European Parliament adopted a resolution regarding Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia and the situation in occupied Crimea. The resolution calls on the Russian government to immediately and unconditionally release all Ukrainian political prisoners.

Between 23 and 24 February, 2017, a representative of the Open Dialogue Foundation was present at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Winter Meeting 2017 in Vienna. The aim of the visit was to discuss the current human rights and political situation in the post-Soviet region.

Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, at least 43 Ukrainian citizens have been illegally prosecuted for political reasons on the part of the Russian law enforcement agencies. Of them 6 have been released, 30 are still held in detention facilities or prisons.
