On 25 March 2021, human rights defenders from Kazakhstan, EU representatives, academics, and journalists gathered for an online discussion “Addressing human rights abuses in Kazakhstan: a need for the EU response” to provide an overview of the ongoing human rights violations and an update of Kazakhstan’s implementation of the European Parliament urgent resolution of 11 February 2021. The event was co-hosted by MEP Petras Auštrevičius (Renew Europe; Lithuania) in cooperation with the Open Dialogue Foundation (ODF). The discussion was moderated by Lyudmyla Kozlovska, President of ODF.

On 26 November 2019, the Open Dialogue Foundation (ODF) and the Center for Civil Liberties (CCL) hosted a European Parliament breakfast under the title “Ukrainian Hostages of the Kremlin: How to Release Them All?”. The event was organised upon the initiative of the MEPs Petras Auštrevičius (Renew Europe; Lithuania), Viola von Cramon-Taubadel (Greens/EFA, Germany) and Julie Ward (S&D; UK).

On Tuesday, 28 February, 2017, Members of the European Parliament hosted the Open Dialogue Foundation for a debate event on the “Ukrainian Political Prisoners in Russia and occupied Crimea”, at the European Parliament – Brussels.

Join us on 19 October in the European Parliament, room PHS 5B001, for an event co-organised by Petras Auštrevičius, Michał Boni, Ana Gomes, Rebecca Harms, Charles Tannock and Fundacja Otwarty Dialog dedicated to the Minsk Agreements and the role of sanctions in the EU-Russia relations.

Due to the recent extremely worrying developments and following consultations with Nadiya Savchenko’s lawyers, as well as with the representatives of the Russian opposition and civil society we have decided to broaden the “Savchenko List” with new names and to make it public.

At the end of the Free Russia Forum the participating representatives of the Russian opposition and civil society adopted a resolution supporting the call for the introduction of personal sanctions against individuals responsible for the persecution of the Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko.
