Specialized in the post-Soviet space, Iris is a recent graduate of International Studies at Leiden University. During her bachelor’s degree, she spent one exchange semester at the Higher School of Economics in Moscow and worked as a student consultant for Amnesty International. After graduating, she left the Netherlands to move to Wroclaw and reconnect with her Polish roots.
Iris strongly believes in the power of civil society organizations and trans-national cooperation to protect democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in Europe and Eurasia. She has a special interest in socio-economic and political developments in Central Asia and wrote her thesis about regionalization processes of the area.
Apart from academics, Iris is passionate about traveling, analogue photography and outdoor sports. In her free time, she loves to attend cultural events, go to the cinema and dance.
