Kazakhstan: Government must commit to protecting freedom of expression as UN reviews human rights record
The Kazakh authorities should heed calls for greater protection of freedom of expression made by several states during today’s review of its human rights record, PEN International said today.

Vladimir Kozlov was denied a transfer to softer regime conditions due to penalties which he had not been informed of. Roza Tuletayeva was not released on parole, as the court found that she “has not demonstrated that she has embarked on the path of correction”.
